A Smaller World Requires Bigger Thought

China, China, China.

Everywhere I go, China keeps coming up in my conversations. I have friends working there, friends studying there, friends teaching there, friends going to the Olympics, friends working at the Olympics.  This nation is prevalent in both my life and the global scene.

“China is the largest growth market in the world for the auto industry, and for most industries,” says Mike Meyerand, Director of Broadcast Communications for General Motors.  He recently returned from the GM auto show in Shanghi, China. General Motors international sales are going much better than U.S. sales, and many are saying China may help save the GM brand.

What can be attributed to China’s success? I believe it is their global thinking.

When I was in college, I took an International Studies Class. Every day, we had to cut out a newspaper clipping about China’s growing economy. This really wasn’t difficult, as China’s focus on business has earned them plenty of press.  It is believed that they will have the world’s largest economy in just a few years.

This should show us, as Christians, that we must start thinking globally. We must pray globally, partner globally and participate globally.  The world is getting smaller and smaller, and we must continue to think bigger and bigger.
