New Iron, Rhinos, Culture, Oh My!
A comedian posed the question, “Who came up with animal names?” What a thought! On one hand you have the ox and on the other hand you have the rhinoceros. Completely different names for very similar animals, if you ask me.
Stop for a moment and consider the Rhino. A pastor friend told me that a group of Rhinos is called a Crash. I love random information like this. Here’s another one: Rhinos can run up to 35 miles per hour but they can only see 30 feet in front of their horn. Talk about a group of risk takers!
Crash. It’s really an incredible word. Another meaning of crash is to force or to drive. When something crashes into you, you notice. Whether it’s a vehicle, a lady and her crowded cart at the supermarket, or a group of Rhinos—you notice.
So when people ask me, “Esther, what exactly IS New Iron Media?” my answer has become: We are a group of Rhinos. We have Black Rhinos, White Rhinos, Indian Rhinos—you name it, we’ve got it. We are a group of risk takers. We run fast, and we run together. We are a crash. And when we crash into something, they do take notice. We think culture will too, and it’s our goal that our crash will help drive it.
Glad to have you on board.
